The Complete Atlas of Reptiles and Amphibians (1984)

The Complete Atlas of Reptiles and Amphibians for the Terrarium: an oversized book (831 pages, 10+ pounds) written by Obst, Richter and Jacob. Originally published in German, it was translated to English and published in the USA in 1988 by TFH. This is an extraordinary attempt to create a comprehensive reference on the herps that are encountered in captivity. The book is illustrated with nearly 2000 photos; there also are line drawings and maps and other assorted figures. Some photos are very good and many are of rarely seen herps. All-in-all, this is a very good, enjoyable, and useful addition to a herp library. This book is in very good condition.  There is some yellow spotting on the first plate, but otherwise the pages are clean and sharp. There are a couple of marks on the lower edge of the book. There is no dust jacket. There is light shelf wear, and with a tight binding. An excellent copy.
